Description

Join us for a soothing sensory walk, specially designed for veterans. Nature's healing power awaits as we immerse ourselves in the tranquil embrace of the woods. Our walk offers a profound opportunity for relaxation and restoration, enabling veterans to find solace in the serene surroundings, reduce stress, and improve mental well-being. This practice, rooted in the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yoku, has been shown to enhance mood, regulate blood pressure, boost immune function, and foster a deep sense of connection with nature.

We will stroll for about a mile. Certified Nature and Forest Therapy guide, Laurence Turcios will lead you through a series of inviting experiences that will help you to connect with nature, yourself, and the other participants.

After each of these  invitations, we'll pause to share about what we are noticing, deepening our connection with the world around us. And as the walk reaches its serene conclusion, we'll come together for a soothing tea and a snack.

Bring: Water, trail shoes, dress for the weather, wear insect repellent, and bring a sitting pad if preferred to ground.
